Web Sources
In addition to uploading files, you can add web content directly to your project. Finch Fusion will fetch, process, and index the content from a URL so it becomes part of your searchable research materials.Adding a Web Source

Supported Content
Web source collection works best with:- News articles and press releases
- Company blog posts and announcements
- Research papers and industry reports
- Public financial filings and documents
- Any publicly accessible web page with text content
The URL must be publicly accessible. Pages that require authentication or are behind paywalls cannot be collected.
How Web Sources Are Processed
When you add a web source, the platform:- Fetches the content from the provided URL
- Extracts the main text content from the page
- Chunks the content into searchable segments
- Indexes the content for AI queries and report generation
Using Web Sources in Reports
Web sources are treated the same as uploaded documents:- The AI can search and reference them when answering questions
- They are included in report generation as source material
- Citations will link back to the original URL
- Entity recognition works on web source content
Best Practices
- Add relevant sources before generating reports to give the AI more context
- Use authoritative sources such as official company pages, SEC filings, or reputable news outlets
- Combine with documents for the most comprehensive research coverage
- Check the source after adding to confirm the content was extracted correctly
Limitations
- Only text content is extracted; images, videos, and interactive elements are not included
- Very large pages may be truncated
- Dynamic content that requires JavaScript rendering may not be fully captured
- Rate limits may apply to the number of web sources per project
